As well as running my own legal practice, I am a director at Strategic Global Pathways (SGP). See the website at https://strategicglobalpathways.com/

SGP helps businesses to grow and scale, particularly when expanding overseas. We have a broad range of expertise within SGP covering fields such as intellectual property strategy, commercialisation, leadership, logistics and finance.

By way of example, last year we were embedded in a delegation of businesses attending the GasTech 2018 conference in Barcelona as part of the Australian Pavilion. The delegation was supported by National Energy Resources Australia (NERA). Previously SGP has taken businesses on a curated trip to California and Canada with a focus on innovative technologies.

Our point of difference is that the delegation does not simply turn up “in country”. Instead, the participants receive intensive training over three day-long workshops in the month leading up to departure. The training includes technical skills (e.g. legal and tax), leadership/cultural training (e.g. how different cultures engage differently) and articulating value proposition (e.g.  how to pitch your business when meeting with a potential customer or partner). This means that the participants arrive in country with the skills and confidence to make the most out of the opportunities.

And it meant to be fun too. One of the highlights of Barcelona was watching Barcelona v PSV Eindhoven at the Camp Nou, including a sublime Messi hattrick. We lay it on!

Taking businesses overseas is only one part of what we do at SGP. We can provide advice on all aspects of a business, whether an early stage start up with innovative technology or an established company seeking to expand into new markets or products.

Do get in touch if you think SGP can help your business.
